Till The Sun Turns Black

Lamontagne Ray

Lamontagnes debut Trouble was a quiet achiever released\nin 2004 that took 12 months to achieve a belated local release. An\nAustralian tour in late 05 finally woke people up to his talent.\nAnd now he has delivered again with this remarkable album (and\nagain it looks like the local company will be a long way behind).\nThis time his vocal delivery is all whispery and hushed as if to\ndraw the listener in it works wonderfully with the stripped back\narrangements. He does, however, still manage a couple of good\nold-fashioned RnB numbers with Three More Days and You Can Bring Me\nFlowers which seem more in keeping with his previous album. It\nwould appear that Lamontagne isnt particularly interested in sales\nas this is in no way a commercial album, but anyone interested in\nquality songs and performance will be hard-pressed to find a better\nalbum this year.
