Schools and Libraries

Schools and libraries are eligible to receive a 20% discount on all trade books* purchased through our website, and also receive discounts on our huge range of DVDs and CDs.

(Please note, some exceptions may apply — not many — and this discount may not be combined with other offers.)

To access your 20% online discount, your school or library needs to set up an online account with us. The first step of this process is downloading and filling out this credit application form. Once completed, please send the form (via email or post) to our online fulfillment manager, who will set up your account and provide you with further information.

If you’d like to chat directly with a staff member about setting up an account, or find out further information about what Readings can offer to schools and libraries, our schools and libraries liaison Ann Le Lievre would love to hear from you (email: ann.lelievre@readings.com.au).

Our website has a range of great blog posts and book collections created especially for teachers and librarians. You can view a number of collections below, and you’ll find more children’s books here, and more adult books here, as well as relevant blog posts here and here.

Don’t forget about our Readings Children’s Book Prize, which recognises and celebrates Australian books that children love to read, and raises the profile of debut and on-the-rise Australian children’s book authors. Our 2017 winner is A Most Magical Girl by Karen Foxlee.

And we are thrilled to add the Readings Young Adult Prize, to celebrate exciting emerging voices in Australian young adult literature. Our 2017 winner is The Bone Sparrow by Zana Fraillon.
