Last week’s bestselling children’s book is Lots – a new picture book from Marc Martin that features quirky observations and facts about different places around the world. Our reviewer promises that this book would make ‘an enjoyable addition to any budding adventurer’s bookshelf’. Martin is also responsible for the stunning mural in our newly-opened specialty children’s and young adult shop. Learn more about the story behind the mural here.

New picture book offerings from Bob Graham, and Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, also proved popular last week. Home in the Rain is a radiant, gentle story that’s perfect for sharing when a new baby is on the way, and Zog and the Flying Doctors is an utterly delightful and original sequel to the bestselling Zog.

Older readers who are fans of Percy Jackson and/or Magnus Chase will be pleased to hear that Magnus Chase and the Hammer of Thor has arrived in-store (the second book in Rick Riordan’s latest series). And OzYA fans may be as intrigued as we are by the premise of Kimberley Starr’s Text Prize winner: The Book of Whispers mashes up the Holy War together with supernatural conflict.
