What’s past is prologue in our children’s and YA top 10 last week, with several classics proving popular with readers at this time of year. People are jumping to rediscover or introduce their little ones to the timeless stories of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Little Prince, and Watership Down, while future classics such as picture book All the Ways to be Smart and absurdist pigeon drama Real Pigeons Fight Crime also make a showing.

YA is also proving popular. Angie Thomas bookends the top 10 with two books: her new release about the hip-hop scene, On the Come Up is in top spot, and her 2017 blockbuster hit The Hate U Give in ninth. Rachael Lippincott, Mikki Daughtry, Tobias Iaconis’ romance Five Feet Apart, Jodi McAlister’s supernatural romance_Misrule, and Karen McManus’ thriller _ round out our bestsellers.
