Autumn Writing Salon: Seminar Three — Readings Books

Seminar Three – Know Thyself: Character and Conflict

If there’s a difference between a 'good character' and a compelling character', what makes a reader want to read on? Literature is populated with outsiders, unsavoury types and beautiful acts of self-sabotage–and yet writers are often afraid of being too much.

Let’s overcome that fear. How do we bring real human stories onto the page? How do we shape obstacles, backstories, fights and triumphs? And how do we guide our reader to care for a character, to hold them close through the rollercoasters that make every memorable story?

Open to all writers, at any stage of the process. Come to one session, or come to all!

Tickets are $75 per person, per session. The seminar runs for 2 hours, from 10am to 12pm.

Spaces are limited. Please book here.
