Autumn Writing Salon: Seminar Four — Readings Books

Seminar Four – With A Bang, Not A Whisper: Openings and Endings

A great piece of prose carries its end in its very first sentence. When we have so much to say, where do we begin? We’ll discuss what draws us to an opening, how we balance drama and patience, and how to seed thousands of words within one opening.

In this final seminar of the season, we’ll look at closing sentences, common gestures, and ways that stories linger in the minds of readers. We’ll consider how literature, unlike other artforms, continually nudges against its own frame.

Open to all writers, at any stage of the process. Come to one session, or come to all!

Tickets are $75 per person, per session. The seminar runs for 2 hours, from 10am to 12pm.

Spaces are limited. Please book here.
