Anyone who is familiar with Jamie Lidell will surely testify that the man is in possession of one hell of a voice, even if we have only been afforded glimpses of his talents on previous outings. With Jim, it would seem that Jamie has come full circle to create a more stripped-back and soulful sound, the results of which are glorious. The record kicks off with Another Day, a beautiful little soul-pop gem which the great Jackie Wilson would no doubt have been proud of. From here, we are taken on a trip through a collection of songs which have the ability to move the listener in more ways than one. From retro soul to funk and even ballads, Lidell has gifted us with one of the records of the year.
