Last week’s bestselling books include new novels from Paul Auster (his first in seven years) and Joanna Trollope, as well as two much-loved Australian novels of last year from Georgia Blain and Hannah Kent. Blain, who sadly died last year, was named the winner of the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Writing for Fiction 2017 last week.

Three memoirs are also proving popular with our customers: Carrie Fisher’s The Princess Diarist, Clementine Ford’s Fight Like a Girl and Saroo Brierley’s Lion. Brierley’s story has recently been adapted for a film, which has now been nominated for six Oscars. You can find a collection of other books that have inspired this year’s Academy Award nominated films here.
