We were deeply saddened by the death of the great comedian and writer John Clarke earlier this year. Published posthumously, Tinkering represents his work from the 1970s in both Australia and New Zealand, and includes his writing for radio, television, stage and screen, as well some previously unpublished pieces. It’s our bestselling book for last week.

Other bestselling Australian books include Peter Carey’s caustic comic novel (A Long Way from Home), Jane Harper’s edge-of-your-seat thriller (Force of Nature), two beautifully packaged anthologies of Helen Garner’s writings (Stories, True Stories) and a brand-new collection of comics from the brilliantly insightful First Dog on the Moon (First Dog On the Moon’s Guide to Living Through the Impending Apocalypse and How to Stay Nice Doing It).
