Last week saw the arrival of some brilliant new picture books.

Anna Walker’s Florette is a gorgeous, gentle celebration of one child’s resilience after moving homes. Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen’s Triangle is a hilarious cautionary tale for kids who love sneaky tricks. Aaron Blabey’s Busting! is a very funny story about a very relatable experience.

And Isabel Sanchez Vegara and Frau Isa’s Marie Curie is one of two new additions to the much-loved Little People, Big Dreams series. Each of these picture books tell the childhood story of a different accomplished women in a fresh and engaging way for children of ages 4 and up. (The other new addition to the series explores the life of Agatha Christie.)

Meanwhile, YA fantasy readers are still snaffling up copies of King’s Cage, the third book in Victoria Aveyard’s Red Queen series, and we’re also pleased to see the young reader’s edition of Saroo Brierley’s memoir Lion finding its way into so many news hands. The latter is suitable for ages 10 and up.
