Two gorgeous new picture books feature on our list of bestselling children’s and YA books for last week.

In A Child of Books author Oliver Jeffers has collaborated with illustrator Sam Winston to create a magical, creative ode to the power of books. The other picture book is is one of four currently available in a stylish new biography series for readers 5+: Little People, Big Dreams follows the lives of outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists. In Amelia Earhart, Maria Diamantes and Isabel Sanchez Vergara introduces young readers to the first female flier to fly solo across the Atlantic ocean.

Also proving popular last week… Joy Murphy and Lisa Kennedy’s gorgeous picture book adaptation of a Wominjeka (welcome) ceremony, the 2016 winner of the Readings Children’s Book Prize, and Zana Fraillon’s powerful story for teen readers set inside a detention centre.
