Our top selling title this week is the debut middle grade novel by adult fiction writer, Melanie La'Brooy, which was launched at Readings Kids on Thursday. This is a wonderful fantasy title about a different girl, treated as a slave, who must save the princess in her magical land. It’s a fun adventure featuring a cast of unusual characters, perfect for fantasy lovers aged 10 and up.

The new picture book by bestselling team Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler appears at fourth place in the list. It’s a hilarious rhyming story about a bunch of baddies and the little girl who moves in next door and manages to outwit them. It’s perfect for ages 3 and up.

And finally, the Children’s Book Council of Australia Awards winners were announced recently, and the winner for Older Readers is at seventh place in the list this week. You can browse all the winners here.
