Rocketing to the number one spot this week is the brand new debut YA novel by bestselling fantasy author, C.S Pacat. Dark Tide is Pacat’s fantastic queer reimagining of a favourite childhood story, The Dark is Rising.

Another two new releases that make their debut on the list are our Children’s Book of the Month for October, Wandi, a stunning chapter book about a very special dingo, and a new picture book by Zana Fraillon, a beautifully written and illustrated story about celebrating difference.

Also maintaining their place on our list are three Australian picture books: Sally Rippin’s delightful book of doggie love, Kat Macleod’s book about the magical creatures that reside in our gardens, and Megan McKean’s gorgeous book about enjoying the changing seasons.
