Meet the guest judges for the Readings Prizes in 2017

We’re thrilled to reveal the three guest judges for our Readings Prizes in 2017.

Readings runs three annual literary prizes: The Readings Children’s Book Prize, The Readings Young Adult Book Prize and The Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction. Each year, a shortlist of six titles is selected for each prize by a revolving panel of Readings staff. Once the shortlist has been decided, a guest judge then joins the panel to select a winner. The winning author of all three prizes will receive prize money of $3000.

The Readings Children’s Book Prize

The Readings Children’s Book Prize recognises and celebrates books that families love reading together, or that children read under the covers with a torch late into the night because they can’t bear to put it down – books they tell their friends about.

Our guest judge for 2017 is Elizabeth Honey. She is a writer of poetry, novels and picture books – which she illustrates herself. She is known for many of her books including the popular Stella Street stories, now available in a special anniversary edition.
