Last Week's Top Sellers

Tim Winton’s Eyrie arrived in-store over the weekend and has already leapt to the top of our bestsellers list – and no wonder. Early reviews of the novel are full of praise, with our own Joseph Rubbo saying, “The writing is elegant and admirably true to where it’s from; Winton crafts poetry from the salty Australian vernacular.”

You can read Joseph’s full review here.

Counting the Winton, Australian fiction almost fills half our bestsellers list with big names Alex Miller (Coal Creek) and Richard Flanagan (The Narrow Road to the Deep North), as well as the inimitable Kerry Greenwood (Murder and Mendelssohn) continuing to sell well.

Also from an Australian author, we have Vivien Achia’s memoir, Marrying Italian, which was launched in our Carlton shop on Monday to a packed audience.

Last week also saw the much-anticipated visit by Art Spiegelman, and perhaps demonstrating just how much Melbournites are loving comics at the moment, three of his titles are included in our bestsellers: The Complete Maus, MetaMaus and his new book, Co-Mix: A Retrospective of Comics, Graphics, and Scraps.
