A collection of some of our favourite Readings moments

Here are just a few of our favourite memories from over the years at Readings.

The time when Mark Rubbo was just starting out.

new

(current) shop in Carlton.

The time when everyone wanted a copy of the new Harry Potter.

The time our staff dressed up as Where’s Wally.

And the time they all wore their most striking jumper.

And… the time they all wore stripes.

That time we hosted a movie night in a laneway (featuring Graphic Novels! Melbourne!).

That time a choir flashmobbed us and performed ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’ by Hunters and Collectors.

When this dog came to visit.

When we hosted a cook-off with recipes from Mr Wilkinson’s Simply Dressed Salads

…and then Matt Wilkinson himself was a surprise judge.

When Omar Musa read from his book, Here Come the Dogs.

That time Mark Rubbo met Hillary Clinton.

When author and musician Patti Smith came to visit and made us all cry by talking about her memoir, Just Kids.

When Grug came to visit and got to meet his biggest fan.

That time we got to present a giant cheque to Ceridwen Dovey when her short-story collection, Only the Animals, was named the winner of our prize for new Australian fiction.

That time we all danced to the Readings band (made up of five very talented staff members).

And then they came down to dance with us too.

And that time we loved all the books…
