Irena’s Gift is about complicated mother-daughter relationships and what happens when refugee families don’t talk about the past, and the unravelling that occurs when it’s finally brought to light.

Karen Kirsten is a genocide educator and refugee advocate. Raised in Australia by a Holocaust survivor mother and grandparents who silenced her questions about extermination camps, Karen lectures around the world on hatred and reconciliation.

Mimi Kwa will be doing the launching honours on the night.
