When it comes to super cool, economical pop nobody does it better than this Austin, Texas outfit. On the heels of Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, one of 2007’s absolute best, the band are back to their ever consistent best with Transference.

First single ‘Written in Reverse’ has a slightly unhinged vibe but don’t be fooled, this is what Spoon do best. Much like their French counterparts Phoenix, Spoon are a band who have been knocking on the door for a long time and seem on the verge of achieving the plaudits they so richly deserve. Slick, shiny and utterly, utterly brilliant.
