The Tindersticks have released their ninth studio album in a 20-year career. It finds Stuart Staples and co. in a reflective mood which is not usual for the band that is sometimes compared to the American band Lambchop. The Something Rain was recorded between 2010 and 2011, and opens with a nine minute spoken word piece, ‘Chocolate’, which sets the mood for a very calm mix of lounge and soundtrack style music which is meditative and sublime.
