The Museum of Intangible Things by Wendy Wunder

Zoe and Hannah are best friends who have grown up with little to lean on except each other. Fed up with their hopeless hometown and the hand they have been dealt by negligent parents, they embark on a hectic road trip across America.

Throughout the journey they have exhilarating new experiences – they break laws, meet cowboys and chase storms. Zoe tries to teach Hannah how to live better and more fearlessly. Hannah tries to keep Zoe, who suffers from a mental illness, safe from the aliens that have been communicating with her and from the institutionalisation she fears so deeply.

The Museum of Intangible Things is a sharp and often very funny novel that glows because of its two strong and bright leading ladies. It’s a compassionate and heartbreaking story about the true value and limits of a great friendship.
