The Adventures of Seaborne Morse: Chris Ward

What this book lacks in size and production, it makes up for in story and thrills.

Seaborne and his friend Todd seem to invite wild and somewhat extreme adventures to come their way. It is what happens if, for example, you ‘borrow’ a bird-eating spider to deal with the class bully, or follow ‘the Colonel’ who lives in the big house with its own ‘smugglers’ cove and pier. Or, indeed, if you come by a skull and crossbones ring in very creepy circumstances, and then find it has dangerous powers.

Each chapter is a separate adventure, breathtaking and hilarious by turns, so it is a great read for 9-12 year olds who enjoy fast pace and wacky adventures.
