The prolific Jordi Savall isback again with anotherfine recording. On thisnew disc he arranges bothanonymous material andmusic by named composersfrom the fourteenth to the twentiethcenturies. The music featured here ishypnotic and the playing from all concernedis excellent. Aside from Savall’s fine andprecise performance, it’s the contribution ofArmenian musicians Georgi Minassyan and Haig Sarikouyoumdjian on the duduk,Gaguik Mouradian on the kamancha andArmen Badalyan on the dap that elevatethis album to something very specialindeed.
