This is such a satisfyingly happy story. In lively, but sensitive illustrations and just enough text Tina Burke captures perfectly the early days of school (or preschool): the comfort of imaginary friends, playground lunches, and best of all, making real friends as well. Perfect for four and five year olds though older and younger will identify with Ruby too.
