Queen of the Minor Key by Eilen Jewell

I can’t get enough of rockabilly’s influence on musicians, and Eilen Jewell’s new album is enough to make your hair break out in victory rolls.

The title track, with its amazing guitar work, is an injection of pure fun. The album itself is a mix of pace, from blues-touched Hooked to surf finisher Kalimotxo. Tracks like ‘Santa Fe’ may make you mellow and contemplative, with its heavier reliance on the slow, lapsteel country sound, but songs ‘Warning Signs’ and ‘Bang Bang Bang’ will get you back on your feet straight away. A great country all-rounder.
