Many fans of Jeff Beck place him in the same Guitar-God stratosphere as the likes of Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. And although this album doesn’t quite match the best of those luminaries it is a very strong album that certainly shows that Beck is a master guitar player. Beck’s style lies somewhere between Jazz and Rock and this live performance draws on these genres heavily. Beck’s early career saw him working with the likes of Rod Stewart and The Yardbirds and whilst this release does include tracks that are reminiscent of this style, Beck’s true gift is his constant re-invention. He pushes the boundaries and it’s damn great to hear.
