Le Concert Spirituel was a series of performances (beginning in Paris in 1725, ending in 1790) to provide entertainment during Lent and on religious holidays. By programming these works, Savall is endeavouring to bring these magical evenings of music back to life. Under his astute direction, Le Concert Des Nations play magnificently and manage to transport the listener back in time. Jordi: you’ve done it again.
