Adamson is renowned for his work (primarily as bassist) for post-punk group Magazine, The Birthday Party and Nick Cave’s Bad Seeds. Since leaving the Seeds in 1987, he has worked as a prolific composer, producer and solo artist with the cinematic approach to his own albums leading him to feature on, or produce, actual soundtracks (Natural Born Killers, Lost Highway and Delusion, to name just a few). I Will Set You Free is the third of Adamson’s solo albums to be released on his own label, Central Control International. Its full, funky, soulful and characteristically cinematic sound is genuinely impressive, with the work of Barry White, Nick Cave, Scott Walker and, dare I say it, George Michael springing to mind.
