The eagerly awaited solo album from Augie March frontman Glenn Richards hits the shelves this month. Having shacked up in a Fairfield warehouseaccompanied by brother Chris, Richards recorded 19 songs over a month then stripped it back to 15. Also along for the ride are the Drones’s Mike Noga and Dan Luscombe, who may have had some time up their sleeves given the recent release of Gareth Liddiard’s stunning solo effort. It would seem something is in the water when two of the country’s absolute finest songwriting talents take temporary reprieve of their much-loved bands to make very personal statements, and like Liddiard, Richards has produced a wonderful piece of work. With all of his melodic and lyrical gifts, should anyone be surprised?
