Perth band Little Birdy’s new album Confetti has been 12 months in the making. What they have achieved is a tight group of well-written pop songs with infectious beats and smart lyrics. Katy Steele’s vocals range from soulful to driving pop and the songs certainly span those ranges. Having seen them recently highlighting some of these new songs, I was captured by how great and dynamic the band is ‘live’.

The album still doesn’t give me the same sense of enthusiasm as they did that night but if you turn the volume right up, songs like ‘Brother’ and the great ‘Summarise’ get close. Another notch in the development of Little Birdy…but catch them live!
