I have always felt that Anton Bruckner hasnever quite been given the attention hedeserves from the classical music public.Hopefully this new recording of motets willchange that perception. This is the choralsinging equivalent of performing a high-wire routine without a net – each pieceis performed with a raw energy that is atonce controlled and beautiful. Full creditmust be given to Duncan Ferguson andhis choir for their glorious performance,for without this dedication to the music itwould be just notes on a page.
