Accompanied by her new acquisition, a sniffer dog called Achoo, Beka and Clary are sent from the capital, Corus, to Port Caynn, where the trouble is said to be originating from. Here, Beka meets many new faces, including a host of criminals that are part of the court of the Rogue and a handsome bank clerk named Dale Rowan. Beka will be required to display everything she learned in her training and more in order to search out the criminals and bring them to justice.
