Big Kicks: Bob Kolar
Biggie Bear is a loner, a jazz playing, stamp-collecting, giant loner of a bear. Then one day he gets a knock on the door to come and play for the local soccer team. Biggie, being a loner (see above), has never played football but he’s big and according to his new teammates that’s all that counts! He soon finds out that soccer is a little bit more tricky than that, but it’s only once the last siren blows that it turns out that stamp collecting might be more useful than Biggie thought.
This is a beautiful, loveable book that champions both outsiders and team players; sometimes I just want to live inside picture books. Who’s with me?
