Ensemble Liaison have been around for a few years now, but this is their premiere recording. Featuring the interesting instrumentation of cello, piano and clarinet, they have recorded three works: Bruch Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Cello and Piano; Brahms Trio in A Minor, Op 114 and Beethoven Trio in B flat Major, Op 11. All are lovely renditions of the works, with distinct musicianship and good sense of rapport between the ensemble. With a gentle warm sound, it is a beautiful recording of repertoire, slightly out of the norm, but nonetheless very enjoyable. (Have a close look at the front cover too.)
