Another fantastic release from this swaggeringly cool Californian psych-garage/rock trio, who were initially influenced by bands such as The Velvet Underground, Ride, My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain and The Stone Roses.

Beat the Devil’s Tattoo is loud, psychedelic, moderate in tempo and filled with their characteristic layers of distorted guitars. Reminiscent of their brilliant acoustic Americana-influenced album Howl, as well as their first (equally brilliant) release B.R.M.C., Beat the Devil’s Tattoo is definitely worth getting your hands on, whether you’re a Black Rebel fan or just a bit curious.
