Guitar Trek has been a shining light on the Australian classical guitar scene for over 20 years and always endeavoured to offer lovers of the guitar something different in terms of their arrangements and recordings of classical guitar repertoire. On their latest recording, they explore music from Spain and South America. From the opening track, Manuel De Falla’s Dance from La Vida Breve, we are treated to a recording that is beautifully recorded and performed. They also tackle works from Joaquin Turina, Astor Piazzolla, Paulo Bellinati, Celso Machado and Isaac Albeniz. These pieces may have been written for other mediums, but upon hearing them one can only think that the guitar is their true resting place.
