An Intimate Universe gives the impression of being anything but a first album. Moody and brooding, melancholic and soaring, both vocally and musically, similarities with 78 Saab come to mind. Let’s not compare.

The making of a good album is its songs. This set of songs delivers. I am struck by the melody and structure of the songs. At six years in the making this album was obviously a labour of love for Ned Jones. Wellyn reach for the stars – and for me, they shine pretty bright.
