A Deadly Trade: Michael Stanley

The mutilated body of the inappropriately named Goodluck Tinubu is found dead in his tent at a tourist campsite, with the body of another visitor found not long after. As if these murders weren’t problematic enough for Detectives Kubu and Tatwa, they discover that Goodluck had supposedly been dead for decades – another long-buried victim of the Rhodesian war and its aftermath. He had made a quiet new life for himself after his disappearance and seemingly caused no trouble – so how did he end up here? ‘Michael Stanley’ is actually two authors, South Africans Michael Sears and Stanley Trollip, and this well written, complex detective story set in Botswana is their second novel.
