A Little Bit Different by Claire Alexander

Who are the ‘ploofers’? They look like they could be cousins of the Ribena berries, or maybe they are type of baby Pokémon. Whatever they are, I hope these cartoon cuties feature in more books because they are totally adorable. This is a funny, sweet book about the ploofers learning to celebrate difference.

Many of the ploofers are quite confused and displeased when a unique and peculiar bodily function is exhibited. They soon realise that something big, bright, colourful and different is actually something very exciting and special. With nice onomatopoeia and lovely illustrations this is a great book to read aloud together. An important theme doesn’t stop this book from being a whole lot of fun and those ploofers really are just so damn cute. For ages 2+.
