Devastated by an EF-Scale level five tornado–the most destructive kind–in May 2007, Greensburg lost ninety-five percent of its infrastructure. Tragedy did not stop the people of Greensburg, however, and they rebuilt their town to reflect its name: Greensburg became America’s first Green Town.
