Daniel: My Teaching Notes

Daniel has long been viewed as a prophetic book of the Bible, but there is more to this book than prophecy. Daniel is a manof character. He is steadfast in his faith and devotion to the Lord as well as his three companions, Hananiah, Mishael, andAzariah. They do not compromise their faith for any reason in a place where their God is not worshiped. They are alsoinvolved in the political arena. If God wrote a book on politics, then this is the book. Daniel is in the court of Babylonand holds a high office. He has been placed there by the providence of God to influence a self-centered, narcissistic king, Nebuchadnezzar. As will be seen God will deal with Nebuchadnezzar to humble him and make him realize that God isthe one who raises up leaders and the One that brings them down. Daniel is a book that all leaders should read becauseDaniel is an example of the type of leader they should emulate. This book gives God’s plan for the world and Israel as He gives dreams and visions of the future to Nebuchadnezzar andDaniel. God shows us He will do as He said, because in chapter 11 He pre-writes history. The material here is a summation of my notes from my study and teaching of Daniel in adult Sunday School classes. It is intended to stimulate the reader to study the book for himself and allow God to deepen his walk with Him. It is designedfor your personal study and for group study and discussion.
