This book is a collection of vulnerable moments in the lives of the people I've cared for over the last two decades. They shared quiet moments with me, a stranger, and told me things that they couldn't tell their families. I carry these things around with me in my heart?all the broken souls, the deaths, the times when I was the only person they could talk to. These are the moments worth living for. This is what it means to be a nurse, but also, a good human being. I visit their poems now and again to remind me that my life is full. It teaches me gratitude all over again.
