When a hungry beaver sneaks into the library in search of a midnight snack, he doesn't expect to be checked out as a library book. But that is exactly what happens when Maggie, a schoolgirl with a deep hunger for excitement and the strength of a ten-ton gorilla, decides that he will make the perfect addition to her book report.

What follows is pure madness, with each adventure more ridiculous than the last. From a circus with acrobat lawnmowers to Greek ghosts who spend their afterlives in very strange ways, there are friends to be made and fun to be had around every corner.
