Hope - a noun, a verb, and a name

Hope is very familiar with solitude. Her father is devoted to his work, trying to solve a problem even she believes impossible. Stories are Hope's constant companion. Stories and her next-door neighbor Alix, who is obsessed with the stars. It's staring at the night sky from his balcony that she recaptures a sense of wonder with the world.

That same source of wonder shatters everything she once held to be unchanging. Tomorrow is no longer guaranteed, and Hope finds herself alone again as the world falls apart. Or maybe, it's falling into place.

Stars Above is a young adult coming of age story that reminds us the stories we tell, to ourselves and others, matter.
