We daresay that wherever older people gather to sip, sup, and speak-anywhere around the world-it's the same fascinating gumbo of musings, trials and tales.

If you had a one-on-one encounter with any of the characters in this book, you might not find it memorable. But these men and a gal are proof positive that if you get a person in the company of longtime friends often enough, the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
