Femme Fatalite

Master spy and femme fatale Lizzy Thorne battles pro-Nazi agents and enemy diplomats in World War II-era Washington, D.C., for control of top-secret military codes. She is aided by famed authors and fellow undercover agents Roald Dahl, Ian Fleming, and C.S. Forester, as well as William "Wild Bill" Donovan, the founder of America's secret intelligence agency, the OSS, the precursor to the CIA. Although she has a secret admirer in President Franklin Roosevelt, she faces off with FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, who is investigating a young Navy lieutenant named John F. Kennedy, and his relationship with a Danish beauty and possible fascist spy. In the background lurk Soviet agents such as Alger Hiss. Thorne's undercover operations take place against the backdrop of the lavish mansions, glittering soirees, and secretive diplomatic compounds of 1940s-era Embassy Row, Georgetown, and Dupont Circle.
