What is a Knew Poem vs a New Poem? A Knew Poem is something that you have instinctively known forever but could not confirm it until recently because your heart has kept it secret from your brain. It is a refreshed version of something that was previously written or felt. A Knew Poem is like meeting a familiar stranger that you feel you've known before or getting reacquainted with an old friend that you have not seen in ages. At the Poetry Shack, our Knew-Age, caffeinated poetry helps to make sense out of common things that have invisibly surrounded you your whole life but you were unable to confirm them until this moment in time. With my new all-poetry book (2025), I worked with a collaborative, international team of extraordinary talent. Phenomenal canvas artist Justin from Philadelphia custom-painted the shack on my front book cover, master photographer Kevin from Newtown photographed me for the back cover, extraordinary book cover artists from Ukraine designed my book cover, multi-talented Katherine from Nigeria formatted my book, professional and generous sketch artists Dumith from Sri Lanka and Hizachi from Algeria drew the great art sketches for my book, Black Wall Street artist Eddye K from Tulsa drew a sketch of me for my author's page, supreme video editor Roziqin from Indonesia created my video book trailer, my longtime friend Mit Kirkland, from Dothan, allowed me to use his song "Forever More" for my video book trailer, and my creative director son, Jaye, from Brooklyn, created my website. I feel that my 50-plus years of writing poems climaxed with this new deluxe imprint, and I am proud to share our collective talents with the world.
