When my husband and I first moved in together, we struggled to find harmony. I am a 100% pure chaotic raccoon and he is retired military. So as you can imagine, he felt overwhelmed by my clutter and I felt disappointed not being able to live up to his standards of cleanliness.

After one of our sillier fights, we sat down and decided we needed to figure this out because we love each other too much to give up. I would like to say I did better at picking things up...but honestly...he just got more open to accepting my mess.

At the time, I was in law school and working two jobs. There were a lot of things that passed me by that should have mattered more...but I was already stretched thin.

I remember telling my husband that I was afraid he would get tired of me and move on with his life. However, he showed me each day that he was planning to stick around.

He would pack my lunch every morning before I left and in it I would find a sticky note. And I would respond with a note hidden around his things. For a full year, he wrote me a note each day...even on the weekends. This book is inspired by the gift he gave me-unconditional and limitless love.

Don't let movies fool you. Love is not a grand gesture. Love is a sticky note repeated each day. It is a poem, a safe space, and constant work.

Love is the decision to appreciate what you have and the willingness to expand who you are to create space for this other person.

This book is to all those who have loved, are in love, and want to fall in love.

It is to my husband-inspired by the nest of sticky notes I have accumulated from him.
