Devices of Man

In a nameless village, Kate and her fathers build toys for distant kings. They have no need for rulers and their wars, nor religion to dictate their lives. This is all thanks to The Ghost King. Some say he is the scourge of Dominion and does the evil god's bidding. Others revere him for protecting their home. Kate thinks The Ghost King is not a creation of a god, but a man. She hopes her theory will shake the very foundation of their continent.

When mercenaries try and fail to kill The Ghost King, the village learns that one of them was a prince. They fear war is imminent. To protect her people and prove her theory, Kate devises a way to get close to The Ghost King, but what she learns challenges everything.
