The Hymns of God and Men follows the story of ten individuals and their journey after a world war.
The fable begins with the deeds of a man whose life was based on extreme ideas brought on by misinterpretation of what he thought was true. His faith and his actions lead to a war and the death of a million souls. For his sins, he is smote from the earth, but his sins have stained his son, and his blood runs in many lands. A false peace is brought unto the world.
Language and mistranslation continued to distort the truth of all mankind, pulling humanity further from their Maker and their purpose.
In humanity's fictional harmony, after the great war, God sends gifts onto the earth, and new leaders rise. With these new leaders, unbeknownst to them, they begin to chip away the falsities of man, and slowly the truth starts to show its face in the stone on which they chisel. The truth of what man is, why he struggles, and what man must do during his time on earth.
While the truth starts to shine, forces of darkness and untruth still sow in all the nations of the world, trying to blot out the light of what is good and true. Religion, and its misunderstanding of it, bring forth confusion and conflict, and all those who dwell on the earth prepare for another war. This is the hymn of man through the eyes of ten souls, who walk the path of light and darkness. It is a sad and troubling journey, but there is hope in all men to seek the truth.
