Foresight is under attack!The good news is many of the greatest warriors, human, aelf, and dwarf, are in foresight, and it is only grendlaar. The bad news is there are a LOT of grendlaar, more than twice the population of the entire city. Most of those people are outside enjoying Jubilee. If the grendlaar get past the knights, the city will be lost.Will the aelf in the city come out and fight, or wait for explicit instructions from their king? Will the warriors competing in the Grand Melee stay and fight, or return to the city to get their armor? Cuir bouilli is fine for tournaments, but not against tens of thousands of grendlaar.When the queen of the Southern Kingdom hears the horns announcing the attack, she immediately halts the feast they had been preparing to set up the tavern to tend the wounded. But they may soon have their own problems. Alliandre is gravely injured saving Sir Rodney the Magnificent, to fulfil a promise made at Marion's request. This threatens to set off a blood feud between the Southern Kingdom and the greatest house in the Central Kingdom.
